Debating a Libertarian Socialist
Stranger: The working class
You: how is the notion of you get to keep what you earn limist freedom? oppose to socialism that wants to relocate the means of production from individuals?
Stranger: Well no, the issue with capitalism is you don’t really keep what you earn. You get a fraction of what you own after capitalists skim the top and use those funds to protect their interests and neglect ours.
You: no capitalism is the notion of you keep what you earn. as a worker you are voluntary selling your time. you get what you negotiate from the business owner who invested and created the means of production.
Stranger: Well I would consider work or starve voluntary.
Stranger: *wouldn’t
You: no one is forcing you to be employed...
You: different from socialism who wants to force business owner to give up their means of production.
Stranger: I mean it’s either starve or be employed. That’s sort of forcing you. And in the US it goes further and is often sell your labor or be denied medical care. What advantage is there to the working class to have these business owners?
You: well there is a third option, you can work for free and set out to create the means of production. why can't you do that? you don't have to be employed or starve bud
